5 Reasons Why I’m Celebrating (and you should be too ;)

Y’ALL! It’s been a hot minute since I posted on here! Life has been getting crazy with school starting back, sports up and running and a big to-do list, however, I’m happy to be back and chatting with you. I want to know how you all have been, so let me know in the comments and catch me up a little bit! With all these new changes (including the season change – hello, fall!) I want to make a few changes on the blog as well. In the past, it was a little challenging to come up with content to share, and I often felt as though it wasn’t quality. This go-around, I have a new idea that I’ve been inspired to pursue – I want to open up this platform to be more faith-based, meaning that I will probably be posting a weekly devotional, tips and tricks on bible journaling and prayers/prayer request boxes, along with any other ideas that may come my way as we go along. Also, I’m planning on veering away from the all-pink theme I had previously and incorporating a new style, which you may be able to pick up in this post. Can you guess what it is? I’m so excited for these new switches and hope that you’ll stick around! In the meantime, you were probably captured by the caption and want to know why you should be CELEBRATING! Well, my friends, there are so many reasons, and I cannot wait to tell you mine!

To start, I think it’s important to note that celebrating doesn’t always have to come during a holiday, birthday or other special event. I think it’s important to celebrate the small, everyday things that we may take for granted. With this in mind, I want to celebrate being alive today. Is that something that you thought about when you woke up this morning? Or did your mind immediately jump to your plans and tasks for the day? I’m so guilty of that, and lately I’ve been trying to think about what I’m thankful for when I roll out of bed. I want to inspire you to join me in taking a moment to be thankful for those first few awake minutes.

Second, I want to honor my friends and family. I think it’s so important to recognize our loved ones and be thankful for their company. Maybe you have roommates, or housemates that you live with, or people that you spend time with that feel like your family. This week, I want to challenge you to show your gratitude for them in some way, and tell them why you’re celebrating them! You can try to do this by cooking or cleaning for them, or by simply leaving a note somewhere when you head out the door.

I also want to celebrate the WEATHER! As I’m writing this, storm clouds are beginning to clear, and the sun is setting. It rained all of yesterday and practically all of today, until just a few hours ago. Even though I love sunny weather to go swimming, and be outside with my friends, I try to love the rain because it gives me a chance to sit inside and relax all day. I also love the cozy feeling it causes. Whenever there is bad weather, I try to look on the bright side and come up with activities to do (maybe with a roommate, housemate or close friend) that I can do to pass time. Next time some bad weather comes your way, praise it! Make the most of what you have and can do with the opportunity.

Joy. I celebrate because I have been able to find joy in the mundane. Are there times when the joy isn’t there? Of course. We’re only human! But the fact that happiness can be caused by finding free time to write this, or having opportunities to step on crunchy fall leaves with boots and fuzzy socks on is a reason to celebrate, in my book.

Finally, I want to recognize the fact that you are able to read this as a blessing and reason to celebrate. For me, it means that you’re able to support my page and hopefully gain a new perspective. For you, it might mean that you have a good friend who showed you this, or a device to view it on. Whatever the case may be that brought you here, I want you to know that I am grateful for it, and you’re one of my reasons.

What are your reasons to celebrate? I hope you may have a new outlook on your day, and I hope that your week starts out well as you keep these in the back of your mind. I absolutely can’t wait to chat next week. With any prayer requests/questions, please hit the “contact me” button on your homepage. I’ll be in touch! Remember, you are loved and you are worth it!

Keep Smiling,
